American Baptist College Lecture Hall
American Baptist College is located on the banks of the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee. The site for this 250 person lecture hall is the existing stone shell of the abandoned boiler building on campus. The roof was removed and a new roof & interior was designed in such a way to keep the space open & unobstructed by columns. A memorial garden at the entry terrace looking over the Cumberland River will serve as a reminder of a past times when students were forced to hide down by the river in order to worship. A timeline wall will run along a walkway that ties together the other buildings on the grounds while marking monumental events for a school that produced many of the major leaders of the Civil Rights Movement and valuable leaders of our time.
