Country Retreat
Gracefully positioned upon gently sloping pastureland, this home is positioned to take advantage of the numerous vistas provided by the site. The tall windows of the Great Room allow views and access to the adjacent courtyards and coexist with the stone fireplace and the soaring ceilings of the living areas. Flanked by two covered porches, the rear courtyard creates a more intimate space within the open pasture and is illumnated by a transparent 'lantern' tower which houses the studio of the jewelry maker of the household. Dry stacked stone was selected to clad the building in a material indigenous to the farmland of Marshall County.
