Heritage Riverfront Park
This Master Plan, commisioned by the Tallassee Redevelopment Authority, and working along with the Tallassee Historic Preservation Society, was to explore the potential of an abandoned mill complex. Located along the west bank of the Tallapoosa River, in Tallassee, Alabama,
the two main mill structures are proposed to be renovated into a hotel and conference center which may also house a textile museum and a restaurant. A third structure is proposed to be renovated into a museum focusing on the history of the region. New structures, including an Amphitheater, and a public building have also been identified as possible options to occupy the site.
Pavilions, a greenway, renovation of an existing bridge into a walking bridge, numerous history plazas, and an art walk are proposed to allow the site to be integrated into the downtown and nature.
