Born from memories of structures he occupied as a youth while fishing with his father, this cabin has incorporated modern convenience into the shell of the owner's childhood experience. Positioned on wood piers to avoid the potential flood level of the Cumberland River, the living, dining and kitchen areas are linked by a continuous screen porch which allows for full enjoyment by the occupants of the sights and sound of the river. The area sheltered by the elevated structure has been developed into an exterior entertainment space outfitted with a stone fireplace and in addition, creates a visually appealing entry sequence and connection to the river.
