BELMONT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Master Plan
Belmont United Methodist Church has been located at the corner of Acklen and 21st Avenues in the Hillsboro Village area of Nashville since 1908. The building and campus evolved over time, but the importance of the site and neighborhood have remained constant. Maintaining its civic importance in Hillsboro Village and addressing the pragmatic needs of accessibility, additional parking, and planned growth were important goals for the master plan. Working closely with various committees and staff, Gilbert | McLaughlin | Casella Architects evaluated the facility, developed a long term program document, and developed a multi-phased master plan that addressed the goals and needs of the church. Reorganization of existing interior spaces and parking areas responds to the spatial and parking needs in the initial phases. A Community Center space, an exterior Memorial Garden, and a parking structure are planned for the later phases.
