HAWKINS FIELD
STADIUM EXPANSION
@ Vanderbilt University
This addition was designed to expand the seating of the Hawkins Field Stadium and to provide a low-impact solution for facilitating pre-game and post-game functions. Additional work also included the design of brick walls at each foul line, renovations to the bullpen and dugout areas, and the incorporation of video equipment throughout the field to facilitate team training. Approximately 2,000 new seats were added along the right field and left field fences in order to double the seating capacity of the existing facility. This created a direct connection from the stadium to the entry plaza of the adjoining Memorial Gymnasium, establishing a new gathering area for pre-game activities. This move also grows the concession and restroom capabilities of the stadium by allowing the Memorial Gymnasium to provide support services, seamlessly expanding the use of both campus facilities.
